The Serpentine, 2016

The colourful abstraction in the middle of the composition represents gems that like treasures are held between two white columns (symbolic walls). The serpent with a gem eye is a recurring motif in folklore who guards the sacred places, water sources or underground wealth that humans desire. This magical animal appears to show the way to hidden treasures. Its open eye symbolizes omnipresence and awareness. On one hand, as a totem animal the serpent is a metaphor of opportunities, energy and support especially as they relate to the earth and nature. On the other hand, it protects the wealth from loss.
