The colourful central image is the allegory of the Promised Land, commonly defined as the land of Canaanwhich was promised to Abraham and his descendants and repeated on several occasions (Genesis 12:7). It is the holy territory and only such place wherea nation will achieve such worthiness that the Lord will dwell in its midst. Comparatively, it is what the early settlers referred to America as "the land of milk and honey" because it was such a productive and prosperous land. Figuratively it means the hope of discovering paradise, ora blessing, place or situation in which someone expects to find great happiness or abundantly rich resources.
