The Shining Path, 2016

The main idea of this painting is a golden serpent of light meandering through heavenly space. The snake is a legendary totem symbolizing transformation of energy from lower vibrations to higher aspects of mind, body, and spirit (the line that is moving up). Snakes shed their skin in a ritual that embodies rebirth and new beginnings. With the ability to leave the old skin behind, snakes represent a fascinating metamorphosis. All the Goddesses in the world – Middle Eastern, North African, Mesopotamian, South Asian and Central European – are typicallyassociated with snakes. Goldhere shares several of the same attributes of the yellow colouring. Gold and yellow are partnered with the Sun which in turn patronizes this metamorphosis fulfilling it with happiness, success, attainment and prosperity.
