Humpty Dumpty, 2016

The process of transformation starts from "a great fall"— this is the fall from grace, the descent into darkness and at the same time may be the beginning of a new life. The first stage of growing ironically includes the "dumpty" stage. Our shell must be broken into a thousand pieces, our egos must be shattered if there is any hope of entering the light of spirituality and our defenses must crumble and be rendered useless if we are to open to our true natures and our higher selves. Change means building a new wholeness, finding a new form of balance of joy and pain, love and fear, peace and anger. This painting is an anthem of transformation — no matter how much we believe we are broken, we can always embrace and take advantage of the unknown. Humpty Dumpty symbolizes these new unexplored realities.
