Tree of Life, 2016

The concept of a tree of life is a widespread archetype in world mythology and in various cultures it is known as the Cosmic Tree, the World Tree and the Holy Tree. Itembodies many things which include wisdom, protection, bounty, beauty and redemption. The composition has other meanings as well. Its multiple vibrant lines represent our connections to everything around us and are a reminder that in ourgrowthwe are inextricably intertwined with others included in our space. With branches reaching into the sky and roots deep into the earth our nourishment is derived from two worlds — spiritual and material. The Tree of life consists of a feminine symbol (three red fruits that bear life) and a masculine (its steam, as a phallic symbolrepresenting strength). In summary, the paintings explores vital power, growth and rejuvenation.
